Treasury yields surge as Fed signals more hikes ahead

U.S. Treasury yields hit their highest level since 2004 as New York Federal Reserve President John Williams said another rate increase by year-end is reasonable. Long-dated bonds have sold off sharply, and with volatility stable, markets are priced to react quickly to any fresh inflation or rate signals. The rates-and-inflation backdrop is already stretched, making each data point more consequential.
