Oil supply fears quicken market moves

Houthi attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz have renewed oil-supply concerns, prompting sharper market swings even as volatility sits in a normal range. Against an already stretched backdrop from the rates-and-inflation story, traders are reacting faster to fresh headlines than they would in quieter conditions. Rising Middle East exports and emergency stockpile releases are easing some supply worries, but the risk of disruption remains live. the rates-and-inflation picture is still the backdrop.
